reflexology

a type of complementary therapy that involves applying pressure to certain points on the feet, hands, and ears. This therapy is based on the belief that these specific points, also known as reflex points, correspond to specific organs and systems in the body. By applying pressure to these points, it is believed that the practitioner can promote healing and balance in the corresponding organs and systems.

Reflexology has been practiced for thousands of years, and it is believed to have originated in ancient China and Egypt. Today, reflexology is practiced all over the world and is used as a complementary therapy to treat a wide range of conditions, such as stress, anxiety, pain, and digestive disorders.

What to expect:

During your reflexology session, you will typically sit or lie down while your practitioner applies pressure to specific points on your feet, hands, or ears using fingers, thumbs, or a specialised reflexology tool. The pressure may be gentle or firm, depending on your preference and the practitioner's assessment.

Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose conditions. However, reflexology can indicate areas of tension/congestion within the body. Your practitioner will discuss this in your appointment should need arise.
