Aromatherapy massage combines therapeutic touch with the carefully guided use of essential oils to support body, mind and mood.
At Shipston Therapy Centre, treatments are tailored to the individual and may support relaxation, muscular ease, emotional balance and overall wellbeing. We use high-quality essential oils from Amphora Aromatics, selected for their purity, provenance and therapeutic value.
Essential oils are powerful plant extracts and require knowledgeable, professional use. When applied appropriately, they can enhance the effects of massage working through both the skin and the olfactory system to support the nervous system and create a deeply restorative experience.
Each treatment is adapted to your needs on the day. Oils may be chosen to calm, uplift, ground or restore, or your session may be delivered without oils if that is more appropriate.
what to expect
Your session will begin with a short consultation so your practitioner can understand your health history, current concerns and treatment goals.
You will then receive a tailored treatment on a comfortable, heated couch. Where appropriate, essential oils will be selected to complement the intention of the treatment and blended safely for topical use. Treatments may be more calming and gentle in style or more therapeutic, depending on your needs and the practitioner’s approach.
Linda is also able to advise you on at home protocols and help you select a signature blend to suit your needs.
*women who are pregnant, or breastfeeding should use essential oils with caution and under the supervision of a doctor. You should avoid some oils and never swallow essential oils. We offer a separate pregnancy massage treatment. Please call, or book pregnancy massage instead.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Some essential oils may not be suitable in all circumstances, and your treatment may need to be adapted accordingly. Undiluted essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin or swallowed. In pregnancy, some oils are avoided as a precaution, so professional guidance is important.
