A holistic healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei," which means universal or divine, and "ki," which means life force energy. The practice of Reiki involves the transfer of this life force energy through the hands of a practitioner to a recipient, to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. It is considered a complementary therapy and is often used in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic treatment.

Reiki is one of our energy healing therapies and is based on the idea that energy flows through the body along pathways called meridians, and that blockages or imbalances in this energy can lead to physical or emotional problems.

What to expect:

Having a Reiki treatment can feel wonderful, a bit like gradually drifting off to sleep. While you relax, energy enters your body through points called chakras, gently helping the body heal. During a treatment the client lies fully clothed on the massage couch covered with a blanket.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands on or near the recipient's body in a series of hand positions, with the intention of channelling energy to where it is needed most.

Clients often report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during a session and may experience a range of physical and emotional sensations.
